Quality Rainbow Boas

General Care Requirements
Housing:  Tropical temperatures of 75-88 degrees with a high/low gradient. This is best obtained by an under tank heater & above enclosure heat source. The relative humidity should be kept at 80% (this is especially important to babies). A daily misting is recommended to do this. A large water bowl should also be provided to soak in as well as keep the humidity level up.(a sure sign of to low humidity is shedding in pieces)

Diet:  Newborns should be fed about every 7 days & will readily take pinky or fuzzy mice.  By the end of first year they will be eating small rats.  As adults they should be fed every 2-3 weeks of appropriate sized prey.

Size & Lifespan:  Adults usually reach between 5-6.5 feet & can live as long as 20 plus years.

Breeding:  Sexual maturity is reached in the first 3-4 years. Breeding generally takes place from December-February  with the babies born May-July. Breeding is induced by gradual temperature drop to 70-75 at night & daytime temperatures in the low 80's. A change in light cycle to about 7-8 hours rather then the normal 12-14 is also recommended.
